Our story

It began with a longing.

On January 15th, 2015, God answered the heartfelt request of one family in Taunton Town – Dr. Efe and Deaconess Isoken Eribo. They desired a Redeemed Christian Church of God parish right there in their community, a place where God’s people could gather and worship. God heard, and He moved through the commitment of Pastor Yemi Ladipo.

So Overcomers House Taunton was born.

The Early Years: Planted and Nurtured

After the inauguration, the parish was tenderly overseen by RCCG Bristol. Like a young plant, Taunton needed watering and care. The foundation was laid in prayer, in faith, and in the small but faithful gatherings of believers who believed God had placed a church in Taunton for a reason.

 

For 5 years, Bristol church stood in the gap, covering and supporting, until 2020 when God provided a shepherd. On March 5th, 2021, Pastor Adeniyi Kehinde Alalade was appointed to take charge. He met 15 standing members – 15 faithful men and women already serving God in Overcomers House Taunton.

From that day, the story became one of gradual, steady growth. Not by strategy alone, but by solid cooperation of the members as God added to the church. By God’s grace, we’ve grown to an average of over 350 worshippers – and we’re still counting!

The 6Ps: God’s Promise to Us

At the inauguration, a prophecy was released: Overcomers House Taunton would be a church of the 6Ps:

  • People - A place where everybody is somebody
  • Peace - A refuge for the weary
  • Praise - Where worship rises without ceasing
  • Prosperity - In spirit, soul, and body
  • Power - The power of God evident to save, heal, and deliver
  • Possibilities - Where limits are broken by faith

And it has been confirmed ✅

 

A Church Where Prophecy Comes to Pass

Just as the song declares:

“And it shall be, this saith the Lord,

And it shall be according to the prophets of God,

And it shall be, a sure word of prophecy!

Amen! Amen!”

That word came to pass. Overcomers House Taunton has become the church in Taunton – a lovely community church where prophecy comes to pass according to the spoken word of God.

Here, everybody is somebody, and Jesus is the Lord.
